NEPTUNE’s GALLERY

I attempt to capture some of the beauty and magic of our underwater world.

From the smallest of creatures to the largest, all live in our ocean depths – in a rainbow of colors

The ocean is Earth’s last frontier – a fragile homeland to many diverse plants and animals.

Take a virtual dive through these galleries and see some of these ‘jewels of the deep’.

Coral reefs provide habitat for thousands of different species – Many of these are brightly colored and adapted to very specific ways of life. Like terrestrial rain forests, reefs are disappearing rapidly as a result of human activities, including pollution, and overfishing.

Habitat and survival go hand in hand. Some animals and plants can survive only in one specific type of habitat – when their habitat disappears, so do they. Sadly it is becoming apparent that the effects people have on the land extend to the sea. It is only with knowledge and education that this destruction can be controlled.

Sneek Peek of the Galleries:

UNDERWATER SCENIC

Many of the beautiful faces and places I’ve encountered around the world – under the sea.

UNDERWATER MACRO

Shooting within 1-2 inches of fish who are darting about, the sea surge moves you against your will, the shooting scene can be reduced to just a couple square inches and depth of field (focus) to about 1/4 inch deep.

CLOWN FUN

Also known as anemonefish, clowns are colorful, tropical members of the damselfish family.

WRECK DIVING
Ships and planes, now in Neptune’s realm, which have become new homes for sea life.
DOLPHIN TIME
These remarkable marine mammals instill visitors to their realm with a sense of peace, love, and gentle playfulness.
BLACK & WHITE
Though the sea contains a kaleidescope of colors, ‘black & white’ offers another, different perspective – similar to what the naked eye perceives at depths greater than 100 feet.
